On Windows PC, there is a very basic effect called Vocals+https://www.virtualdj.com/addons/4/Vocal_Remover.html for VirtualDJ v7 and earlier that can be used to remove either the vocals or instruments, but the results will vary depending on the song. This is a very difficult task for a computer to do this because it's difficult for it to accurately distinguish between vocals and high instrument sounds, especially in real time.
For the best results and highest quality, you should ideally obtain the proper instrumental and acapella versions of the song. These are usually available for many popular songs from DJ services such as PromoOnly, etc.

To use the plugin in VirtualDJ v7, click on the EFFECTS tab (Above the browser section), choose Sound Effects, then click Vocals+ in the list of effects. NOTE: This effect may not be available in limited versions of VirtualDJ.
Click on the guitar icon to remove the instruments or the microphone to remove the vocals.
3rd party audio editing tools such as Audacity can also be used to manually make instrumental and/or acapella versions of the song, but as above, the results will vary.
